Simon bravely goes up to the mountain and sees that there is no beast but a dead parachutist strangled into the tree branches. On the other side of the island Jack is having a feast for catching his prey for the day. All the boys join his party and eat. The storm is on its way so Ralph reminds Jack of the shelter since they do not have any. But Jack instead of worrying, he starts the play of pig ‘kill the beast, cut her throat and spill her blood’ sings the tribe. Simon finds it necessary that he should go down to the beach and tell everyone the truth that there is no beast except the beast within themselves. As foreshadowed in the chapter eight, the hallucination that Simon was facing, Simon goes down and tries to tell them but instead of listening to him, Jack declares that it is the beast and so they start to hit him and in the end murders him. The author describes Simon’s state of His stiff body. His dead body was finally drifted away into the deep ocean.Chapter 10: The Shell and The Glasses
All the boys have decided that they would stay with Jack and have their luxurious life with the rest of the tribe. Only Piggy, Sam and Eric and some of the littluns are left with Ralph. They were not enough to keep the fire up so they skipped the nights but lit in the daytime when there is no danger from Jack’s tribe. Jack and his tribe decide that they must steal Piggy’s glasses instead of stealing fire of their smoke. While Ralph and others were sleeping Jack, Maurice and Roger sneaked up on them and stole Piggy’s glasses but Piggy was able to save the conch. This time Jack had crossed the limits and what will happen next? Readthe next summary…

I liked how you mentioned the foreshadowing of Simons death from chapter 8 again in the chapter 9 summary.
And Samneric were also still with Ralph and Piggy in chapter 9 :)
By the way, where do you find your pictures? The one with the Pig and the glasses made me laugh, I think I'm easily amused.

I must admit that Jasveen's summaries are alwayes fun to read. Seems like ages since i wrote my 4 summaries, i really enjoyed doing them! Anyways..chapter 8 was definetly a fun chapter to read. When Simon finally realized that the " beast" was a parachusist and ran to tell the rest, I thought that the book would end soon but then i saw how many pages were left so i knew something was going to go on. I always sort of knew what would happen after the talk with lord of the flies but i always doubted myself. .
One thing that still bugs me is how he died before telling the truth! Now no one will nver know what happened:(... oh well that's life i guess.
